Planned engineering work

To maintain and improve the UK's rail infrastructure, Network Rail has to carry out regular planned engineering work. The work is normally done at weekends, on bank holidays and after 10pm during the week, but it may also affect our services at other times.

Engineering work for Today

Buses replace trains between Sidcup / Slade Green and Gravesend on Sunday 18 February

Routes affected:
Between London Victoria / London Charing Cross / London Cannon Street and Plumstead / Dartford / Gillingham

Engineering work is taking place between Sidcup / Barnehurst / Slade Green and Gravesend.

As a result, trains are unable to run between Sidcup / Barnehurst / Slade Green and Dartford. A limited train shuttle service will be able to run between Gillingham and Gravesend.

Buses will replace trains between Slade Green and Gravesend, and also between Sidcup and Gravesend, calling at all stations.

Train services between London Victoria / London Charing Cross / London Cannon Street and Dartford / Gravesend / Gillingham will be amended or cancelled.

Ticket acceptance:

Valid tickets will be accepted on Docklands Light Railway services between Lewisham and Greenwich.

Buses replace trains between Bromley South / Chislehurst and Sevenoaks on Sunday 18 February

Routes affected:
Southeastern between London Victoria / London Charing Cross / London Cannon Street and Orpington / Sevenoaks / Hastings / Dover Priory / RamsgateThameslink between Orpington and London Blackfriars

Engineering work is taking place between Chislehurst and Sevenoaks, closing all lines.

Services between London Charing Cross and Hastings / Dover Priory / Ramsgate will be diverted via Bat & Ball. Thes trains will call additionally at Chislehurst to provide connection to the replacement bus service.

Buses will replace trains between Bromley South and Orpington, and also between Chislehurst and Sevenoaks calling at all stations.

The 06:48 and 07:18 Thameslink Orpington to London Blackfriars services will be replaced by buses between Orpington and Bickley. The buses will depart Orpington earlier than the usual train time, in order to connect into the trains.

Buses replace trains between Robertsbridge and Hastings on Sunday 18 February

Between London Charing Cross and Hastings

Engineering work is taking place between Robertsbridge and Hastings, closing all lines.

Services between London Charing Cross and Hastings will be amended and terminate at Robertsbridge. Replacement buses will run between Robertsbridge and Hastings, calling at all stations except Crowhurst.

A replacement bus will also run between Battle and Crowhurst only.

Engineering work is taking place between Hayes and Lewisham, closing all lines. Trains will be unable to run on this route.

Replacement buses will run all day between Hayes and Lewisham, calling at all stations.

Amended service between Ashford International and Canterbury West on Sunday 18 February

Routes affected:
Between London Victoria / London Charing Cross and Canterbury West / Ramsgate

Engineering work is taking place at Ashford International station, closing some platforms. As a result, some services will be amended.

Services between London Victoria and Canterbury West will be retimed, and will terminate at Ashford International. Services between London Charing Cross and Ramsgate will make additional calls at Chilham and Chartham all day.

Buses replace trains between Faversham and Dover Priory on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February

Routes affected:
Between London Victoria and Faversham / Dover Priory

Engineering work is taking place between Faversham and Dover Priory, closing all lines.

Some train services from London Victoria to Dover Priory will terminate at Faversham, whilst others will be amended to terminate at Gillingham.

A fast bus will run between Faversham and Dover Priory, calling at Canterbury East only. Replacement buses will run between Canterbury East and Dover Priory, calling at all stations.

Replacement buses will also run between Faversham and Selling.
